As you may not know scientists recently warned us of our homes warming up, here are 7 ways for you to do your part to help.

1. The government and what can and should do
Climate scientists have recently issued a "code red for humanity," they warned that we are running out of time to make the revolutionary adjustments needed to limit warming below 1.5 degrees Celsius and avert the most severe consequences of climate instability.
The climate problem will not wait for us, to address this issue we must join together in asking all political parties to work together to persuade governing bodies to address climate change with the urgency and ambition that this disaster needs.
2. Save energy, protect humanity
By saving energy through becoming more energy-efficient, you can pollute less thus protecting our earth. Consider making some or all of these small changes. These steps can really add up :

·Unplug computers, TVs and other electronics when you’re not using them
·Change to energy-efficient light bulbs
·Avoid unnecessary purchase of appliances which are not energy-efficient
3. Eating healthy can help the earth plenty
The food we intake can have a significant impact on the environment. Because of this what we have here are four easy methods to make your diet more environmentally friendly. Eat more meat-free meals
· Buy organic and local whenever possible
· Don’t waste food
· Grow your own
4. Care more by using cars less
You'll be healthier, happier, and save money by reducing your transportation emissions in a variety of ways. Whenever and wherever you can:
· Take public transit
· Ride a bike or advocate for bike lanes in your community
· Fly less (if you do fly, make sure you offset your emissions)
5. Nature is green, green is good
Spending time in nature, being with loved ones, and making a difference in the lives of others brings greater meaning, belonging, and happiness than shopping and consuming. We also generate less pollution and are friendlier on the environment when we consume less. To begin, consider sharing, creating, mending, upcycling, reusing, and composting.
6. Innovate for cleaner energy
You may participate in the clean-energy economy even if you are unable to install solar panels or a wind turbine. Look for local renewable energy co-ops to join on the internet. You'll own a piece of the co-renewable op's energy projects and get a return on your investment as a member. You may also discuss renewable energy/technology investments with your financial advisor.
Meeting with your bank or financial adviser to ensure your investments do not involve fossil fuels will show industry that you care about climate change. Also, check to see if your employer, pension fund, university, or bank invests in fossil fuels. Join or launch a divestment movement if they do.
7. The right leader goes a long way
While it is critical to lower our own carbon footprints, we must also concentrate on reforming the wider system. That is where we have the best chance of lowering emissions.
Vote for leaders at all levels of government who are concerned about climate change. They should commit to setting science-based objectives for reducing harmful carbon emissions, putting in place clear strategies to achieve those targets, adapting to climate change, and transitioning to a clean-energy economy.
Make sure you're registered to vote, and then keep up to date on all elections, not just the ones that garner the most attention in the media. Candidates' stances on climate change differ greatly, so do your research, ask questions about it during debates, and let your candidates know you're voting for the environment. Recognize that your vote counts.
